Ok I had this exact same problem the other week which seemed to fix itself after chaning sata ports a lot and restarted loads of times.

There I was today installed a mod for Total War and the extracting speeds along to 60% in a few second it started getting slow after that but I didn't mind as I was watching tv. It then stopped at 76% for about 5mins which made me suspicous. I then tried to open chrome which never loaded, tried to ctrl alt del but that didn't work either windows had pretty much frozen. So I reset the computer and it was then not setting my ssd as primary boot and tried to boot off my old windows install on my hdd. I restarted again and overrided the boot and the windows icon loaded and then took 40 seconds before it got to the "Please Wait..." then took 30 seconds to get to "Welcome" and another 30 to get to desktop. It then took FOREVER for any startup programs to run. Super anti spywares load screen thing didn't show up for 3mins, the internet icon has a circle spinning around on it for ages, desktop gadget for cpu use etc took 4minutes to load aswell. I decided to change from the Sata 6g port to a 3g but had same experience. The Marvell ports just insta blue screen on windows logo showing up and I am back in the 6g port and still have horrendous load times with nothing attached. This install is only 6 days old and I was getting full read write speeds the other day but it feels like now it is all loading through a 56k connection and I don't know what it is.

As I said the same thing happened the other week and it is quite annoying now and I don't really know what to try.

Edit: Oh and desktop gadgets is crashing on boot now and loading programs is almost impossible.

I think it is the drive. Just connected it to other computer and it hadn't reached desktop after 4minutes. Could the memory controller have failed after only 20ish months? Sure SSDLife app showed 50% or something when I used it the other week. Anyone know if this has to go through OCuk or rma to Crucial directly.
