SSD or SATA HDD?

Thinking of purchasing anther drive. Just not quite sure what to do.

I have a 250GB Samsung Sata drive as m main drive for OS, and all program instalations etc.

I have a 2nd Samsung 750GB SATA HDD for Downloads, Games storage etc etc.

I know for a fact the Main Samsung drive is getting on a bit, and probably isn't the fastest thing going. So im undecided whether to replace my main drive with SSD or with a faster 7200RPM drive.

Been looking at the Samsung F3 Drives, asi've heard they're the best. Also been taking a look at the WD Caviar blacks. 64MB Cache etc.

Then, theres the SSD Situation.

Totally undecided!

Anyone spare a thought or two?

If you're only using it for an OS and have plenty of space available on the other drive then SSD all the way.

If i just use it for OS and have all programs installed say on my 250GB Hd. Im guessing the programs opning and loading time will be the same as they are now?

Was in same situation, have now put o/s on to a 120gb SSD, boots in about 6 seconds now & games/downloads, etc on to two 2TB Samsung F3's.

So do you install programs onto the SSD or onto the Samsungs?

Got the o/s, Photoshop & Open Office on the SSD & that's it.
Every thing else is on the samsung's, might add something else later to the SSD.

Ah right. It is tempting to go SSD, just read so much about failure etc. I know to stay away from OCZ and that M4 Is probably thr best bet. But, was hoping to get something as good as the M4 for less.

Been looking at the Corsair Force 3. Just wondering if prices are going to drop anytime soon!

OCZ arnt that bad... The M4 isnt without faults right now. The force 3 and adata s510 are the same drive i think.

All i ever see is, avoid OCZ Pay that little extra for the M4.

I've noticed that the OCZ prices have dropped a fair bit recently, jst don't want to be buying nd then losing data, having to RMA it after a few weeks or months.

Ive just fitted a Corsair F3 120GB SSD to my laptop and its Sooooooooooooooo much faster! SSD all the way. I will never use a computer again with a normal hard drive. Its just so fast at booting, opening stuff. My laptop boots from cold to a functional desktop in literally 10 seconds

I currently have:

HD250HJ
HD753LJ

Would an F3 HD103SJ Be an improvement on the HD250HJ, if i wer to have it as my main drive. OS and programs?

I had a 750GB samsung F1 and just sold a 1TB f3. Is there an improvement? Its minor if there is.

Any ssd from the past 2 years will blow the f3 out of the water in terms of performance and noise.
