SSd prices droping more

M4 256gb at*no price hinting* is pretty damn tempting but hopefully the downward trent will continue

No doubt one day soon, maybe within 10 years, 1TB SSDs will be available for as little as £120... can't see why that isn't possible as production ramps up :P
It's a bright future ahead :)

I noticed the same, especially from Crucial. The M4 in particular has dropped a fair bit today, which can only mean their new range are due soon.

I hope this continues with higher capacities launching! The sooner mechanical drives are wiped out the better in my opinion! If it wasn't for capacity I wouldn't have the last remaining 1TB mechanical drive in my rig, all my other PCs are SSD only.

Buying my 256gb M4 was the best thing I have done for my PC. Can only hope prices continue to fall and larger sized SSDs become available. Mainstream 1TB SSDs should be in the market within a year but I wouldn't like to see the price.

NOT price hinting here: Generally speaking, as soon as they can get away from the rough figure of £1 a Gigabyte the better for us the consumer.

SSD tech has been advancing rapidly.. within 2 years I hope 500GB SSD's are common and relatively speaking, cheap.

quite tempted to stick this in my MBP instead of the 128gb I have now. I only have sata 2 so its not really worth getting a bleeding edge drive.

Will this be faster than a Vertex 2E?
