ssd problem?

ok had a OCZ - vertex2e ssd delivered today,

ive done a complete reinstall and while the drive is indeed quicker, ive benched it and am getting confusing results -



ive read and been informed this drive should be performing a lot better than this, its connected to my gsata port which is supposed to give 6gbps.

any ideas or should i try my normal sata 2 ports?

oh and i have ahci enabled in bios and windows index score is 7.4

Connect it to your normal SATA-II ports. The Intel controller is much better especially as the Vertex2 only supports up to SATA-II anyway. You'll also want to be running in AHCI mode.

I just got in from working at a customers and had tried what you said just before i went and indeed your correct, all speeds are now as they should be and working very well.
The system is now nippy and these drives are truly amazing!

I get 40mb less write and 20mb less read. I'm running on IDE though as no achi option available.
