Right so I'v got win7 on my 500gb Seagate Barracuda and my Corsair Force 3 60gb came in the post today. What's the best and/or easiest solution to make my SSD my boot drive whilst keeping all the big files on my 500gb, traditional HD.

Any help would be appreciated,
-Luke

You should use backup software to take an image of the 500GB to restore to the new drive normally but as you are likely to have USED more than 60GB already then you won't be able to restore that to the SSD. You'll have to either shrink your W7 install to below 60GB then use Acronis or Norton Ghost, or install W7 again onto the SSD and set it as the 1st boot device. Then you can clean up the 500GB leaving only your large files (messy, just backup what you want, format it and put the data back).

What Pauly said is the easiest idea.

If you install Win7 to your SSD and set it as your primary boot disk, Windows will boot off it and all the data on your HDD won't be touched.

Do you specifically want to MOVE Win to your SSD, if so is there a reason you don't want a clean install? A clean install will be easier and is a good idea to do from time to time anyway.

google paragon migrate,it lets you squash your os down to 60gb size and leave off what you dont need, keep all your os/files on your hdd as a back up

it basically clones your os to the ssd
