Hello, I have an Intel 520 240gb at present and was wondering if it would be possible to install 2 ssd's of differing memory amounts? (1x 240gb and 1x 180gb) ?

If not, would you recommend buying a normal HDD and using this to store things on? or is 240gb of SSD enough only for gaming?

I really do appreciate any feedback and/or assistance. Many thanks

Nick

you can install asmany ssd's/hdd's as you want providing theres enough sataports, you will have two intel sata3,usually four sata2,and two marvel sata3 ports

As above,

due to the price of SSDs I suggest aa SSD for the OS/games and then a storage HDD to files and any games which don't fit on the SSD

I thaught you could install 2 different makes of SSD together? I was wondering if this was the case for same make but different capacities also??

am I understanding this correct or completely off?

thanks

You can install any two [or more] makes/models of SSD/HDD without issue.

Do you mean RAID? If so, they would have to be the same capacity and make/model.

Hi,

Whilst I agree this is good advice, you can mix drives of different sizes in a Raid but you will only get n x (the smallest sized drive), in total capacity (where n is the number of drives in the Raid).

It is not a good idea to mix SSDs with different controller types, I feel.
