Well I read through the ssd explained thread and it says when the ssd fails you can still read from it, does that mean I can still load an OS from it
 
It's more to do with the write failure of the memory blocks as they approach their lifespan limit, rather than an actual failure of the drive itself. Basically, when parts of the drive start to "wear out", you will still be able to read from them.

This is very unlikely to happen to the average user unless you are still using your drive circa 2017+
