I took advantage of this offer: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-113-OC&groupid=1657&catid=2101&subcat=2106
My main specs are: AMD 1090T/Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5/8GB Corsair XMS3

the specs for these drives in raid 0 are stated to be:
- Maximum Read: 1100MB/sec +
- Maximum Write: 1000MB/sec +
- Sustained Write: 1000MB/sec +
- Max I/O Per Second (IOPS): 60000 IOPS (4KB File)

So I've run HD Tune to compare and got these results:

Seems to me the speeds I'm getting are lower than expected by about 20%. I'm concerned about the discrepancy (though not overly). I'm using the AMD raid controller on my mobo, with the AMD drivers.
Either there is something wrong with the hardware/drivers. Or I'm either testing wrong or just expecting too much.

Thanx Surveyor. Would I use the default settings with ATTO - I've just run it and the results are a little slower.

*edit*

Just out of inquisitiveness I unticked 'Force Write Access' and 'Direct I/O'

If only lol

I'm not really understanding the TRIM issues. Specs for both raid sets do state that TRIM is supported under Windows7, but I was led to understand that this was only true with certain intel controllers (RST drivers or something). I'm not too concerned about TRIM as I generally do a reinstall every 3 months. There are tutorials out there to help save and recover space.
Anyone else able to elaborate on this?
The difference between my drives and the ones you linked to is (AFAIK) negligible as they both use the same Sandforce controller.

its an AMD issue. You won't get much better than that as the drivers are ****e,

my M4's in RAID 0 are getting around 400 write speeds and 650/700 read speeds.

You got a real problem then:
My AMD controller with the latest drivers:

The trick, I found, is to not use the catalyst driver installer. Just update the drivers from Device Manager using the boot (F6) drivers (would appear AMD's RaidExpert may have been my problem). If it's your boot drive and windows is running you've already installed the drivers.
