Hey, I bought a 480GB vertex 2e for steam games on my new computer build, It worked at first when i had to use it to help debug someone's computer, and also when it was first ran in my new computer. When installing windows onto my 840Pro, the 300MB partition that windows makes was made onto the vertex instead (even though it was under it in the disk order) in windows i ran the OCZ tools and did a secure erase, then i chose to format it (quick format) to make sure that the whole disk was used in my second try of reinstalling windows to the 840pro, however the format screen hung for hours and i eventually restarted the computer and installed windows knowing something wasn't right there. In the windows installation, the Vertex was reading as formatted, but "the file system is unsuitable to install windows to (or something similar) so i cleared it and formatted it in the windows installation so that the whole disk was used, then cleared the 840pro and installed windows on it. this time it worked fine, however in windows, the vertex 2 wouldn't show up in windows explorer, and it showed as formatted (RAW) in device manager. any attempt to format gave me "Failed to format the selected partition" and the ocz tools failed to even detect the drive (the BIOS detects it and names it, and so does windows).
The next thing i tried was changing the port. the BIOS recognised it, but windows didnt, and then changing the port again, and the computer didn't boot at all (another problem with my new computer but i'll make a different thread)
Can anyone give any advice for this? i've googled around, but the people with my problem don't seem to get their question answered, or dont reply to the questions they are given. If nothing can be done, i'll just RMA it for a replacement as i have a 3 year warranty on it (this should be covered right?)

ah, nevermind i found that the link is the paypal one (looks like a misleading advert, as the text underneath which says it is free is equally misleading)

don't worry, i got a copy of it. I'm yet to be able to boot into it when the vertex 2 is registered in the bios though :S Do you think returning it under warranty is the best option?

yh rma it if it wont let you erase it,cant you get into parted magic at all? sometimes you have to enter sleep mode once your in partedmagic so to secure erase the ssd,i have to do that with my corair
