ssd read/write vs controller type

Hello all,

After reading a very informative sticky by clocka (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18040306 go read it if you haven't) and contributed on by others, I was swayed out of buying 2x32gb ssd's and raid0'ing them, instead going for 1x64. The question I ask is, what is the better drive to go for, better combined read/write/sustained speeds, or a 'supposedly' better controller?

I ask because i'm currently looking at two drives, both with very different specs on read/write speeds, however, in the sticky there is a definite leaning towards the Crucial M225 drives.

The two drives I was looking at were the Crucial M225 64GB 2.5" SATA-II with Read: Up to 200MB/sec - Write: Up to 150MB/sec

and the OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB 2.5" SATA-II with - Maximum Read: 285MB/sec - Maximum Write: 275MB/sec - Sustained Write: 250MB/sec

Surely the much greater speeds negates the difference between the Indilinx Barefoot controller and the Sandforce SF-1200, as Intel seem to have the best controller and anything other than Samsung/JMicron G1 is ok?

Cheers for any help clearing this up for me,

Atocp
