Hello all,

I'm in the process of upgrading my PC to include a Ryzen 7 3700X, 16GB RAM, MSI Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard.

I currently have 1x 840 Evo 250GB SSD as boot drive, 1x Transcend 120GB for other programs etc and also was planning to put in 2x Crucial MX300 275GB (possibly in a RAID) for another programs drive.
I already have the MX300s (from other old machines at home).

Question: should I sell the 2X MX300 and buy an M.2 NVME 500GB SSD? I'm likely to get rid of the Transcend anyway as it's near useless

What would you guys do in my position? I understand a WD Blue SN550 500GB can be had for ~£65

Unless your space needs are only small, definitely time to replace small drives.
Also with tiny weak transistor planar TLC that 840 Evo isn't drive I would put more valuable data after this time.

If you had bought few months earlier 1TB NVMe could had been bought for not much more than 1TB SATA SSD.
Though depending on place and momentary pricing 1TB SN550 can be found for nice price.

Makes sense - I bought the 840 Evo used as well so time to retire.
I've gone for a 500GB WD Blue SN550 for now M.2 NVME. I have 2 x 2TB HDD for mass storage needs. I might put the two MX300s in a RAID for extra but I'll see

Thanks for your help
