My Corsair MP510 240GB is showing only 22GB free but I've only got 90GB of files on it. Before I format and reinstall Windows, is there anything else I can do to diagnose the issue?

I've had that before, a hard drive with a few films on it showing almost fill when there should have been over 100gb free.
I virus checked it and had a virus on the drive (maybe a coincidence) removed it, copied stuff to another drive and formatted it then moved it all back again

Fire up Wiztree to see what’s using the space. How much RAM do you have? 64 GB? Your figures are consistent with having a 64 GB hibernation file and a like pagefile.

Have you done a disk clean up in windows to free up space ?
Already done that thanks.

All clean.

Hibernation and fast start up are disabled. Wiztree only shows 90Gb of files.

Is windows installed onto it and did you re-install windows onto it.

When you re-install windows it can save a huge "windows.old" file incase you want to roll it back if i remember.

There is a way to delete the "windows.old" file and free up a load of space.

Also they are advertised as 240GB but in reality there is much less space.

My 500GB actually only has 465 so 35GB has vanished before i even started.

Yes it's C drive with windows on it. I already deleted windows.old in disk cleanup.

It shows as 222GB but only has 90GB of files on it so not sure what's occupying the rest.

It won't account for all the missing space, but do you have Fast Start Up and Hibernation enabled inside Windows? That often stores the amount of memory and other stuff onto the drive and that could be taking 16+ GB of space, as that's the amount of RAM you have in your signatures system (plus it'll have overheads from other stuff). But where the rest is, I'm not certain what else could be the problem from what I've read thus far. But have a quick look for those options in Power Options and then Additional Power Settings, and then Choose what the power button does. See if they are enabled.
