I have a OCZ Vertex 2E (60GB) from 2010. It's rated for 285MB/s read and 275MB/s write.
It performs with 146MB/s read and 35MB/s write (sequential). Is it faulty or have I done something wrong setting it up? It's only got 6 weeks left on it's guarantee (2 years by EU law).

Thanks

What programs did you bench it with?

I used AS SSD Benchmark

Jmicron raid? Wouldn't Intel ports be better? unless its amd board Test with atto aswell for sandforce ssd's

Maybe but my Intel ports are on AHCI (for hot swapping from the front bay) and I like the SSD to be on IDE cos it boots quicker.

This wouldn't affect the results too badly though would it?

I shouldn't thinkso,Intel ports have always been the quickest though

Running ssd in IDE mode won't help speeds

You need to run atto, your speeds look fine but will always look odd in that program as its geared towards non sandforce controlled drives that are better for non compressionable data

That's right for SATA2

:D

There is a Marvel SATA III controller on the Mobo as well, but the drive isn't fast enough to take advantage of SATA III is it? I'd rather use the Intel controllers now that everything is working perfectly :-)

Thanks for all your help tonight!

yeah, you would only benefit if your drive was sata3,they arnt as fast as intel sata3 but slightly better than intel sata2
