ssd speed problems

Just noticed my system seemed to have slowed a bit..then while copying some larger files between ssd drives and my SanDisk cruder extreme usb stick I noticed once the buffer was used the speeds would drop to 100 or 150MB/sec where they used to be sustained well above 200MB/sec

I had not made any changes to the drive cables, and tried swapping both for fresh ones
I tried a secure wipe of both drives - which had a small benefit 15% or so.
Updated firmware
Also reset bios, clean window install test on both drives...

Not to no avail... Annoyingly I had a brand new system until last week that I could have tested them on..

Also checked smart and ssdlife and showed ok

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas?

other thing to check is that its using a sata 3 port and the ports are set to achi

Yep done that, it's an amd 880G chipset and all native 6G ports running in achi

Gonna try it in another system now see what happens

have you tried updating the chipset drivers? might be worth trying another sata 3 port if you have one spare?
