SSD startup error

The two SSDs are in RAID 0 which combines them together as a single drive and data is split over the two disks.

One of the SSDs is no longer being recognised as part of the array so half the data is missing hence you can't boot into the operating system.

There is software to recover RAID arrays but it won't do you any good if one of the SSDs is knackered.

RAID Reconstructor is the first I've found but there are likely others.

Perhaps you could start by making sure that the SSDs are still fitted correctly.

you can rebuild the array, not sure if you lose the data though

in raid console press ctrl and i at that splash screen you posted

(be sure you wont lose any data first before attempting it as im not sure)

Very odd that you can boot into Windows from what appears to be a failed RAID 0 array.

Please backup all the data before trying anything.

Actually backup all the data even if you're not going to try anything.

If you have the Intel RST driver/software installed then have a look at that and see what information it gives you about the status of the disks/array.

I've looked at the device manager and it gives no information except the volume 0 is working properly. I've looked at the Sony Vaio control panel and there is no reference to storage devices, I don't think the intel rst drivers are installed.

With the drives being 128Gb and the available space in windows being 225Gb not 256Gb I think that one of the drives has got a lot of unreadable sectors.

I fancy reinstalling windows 7 without raid after backing up data.
