SSD Temps ?

OK so might seem a silly question but....do ( cos i have no idea ) SSD's get hot or warm ?

Think they would get warm.

Basing this completely on the fact other solid state memory devices get warm

Hmm ok thanx guys, i was thinking of tucking it in behind the off side of the case ( where all me cables are )...but i might just leave it in the HDD rack under the other HDDs

Mine is there, been there for ages, no problems.

They only use a watt or two. It would be hard for an SSD to overheat, no matter where you trapped it.

Yeh they don't seem to generate much if any heat, the temp of the drive will just be down to the ambient temperature around it.

My agility 3 is currently sitting at 30°c, has no airflow over it at all.

OK well looks like i might tuck it away then as I've just got two 1TB HDDs from OcUK .....and thanx for the information guys

The Zalman Z9+ case I have has an SSD mount behind the motherboard tray where all the cables are hidden so assume the heat from them is really nothing to worry about.

I think from figures I have seen elseware they run at about 30C. Having said that if you have a hot case they are going to get warmer.

I have the vertex 2e and it dont move from 30c also.

I'll probably put my SSD behind motherboard tray in new chassis. Seems pointless having it on a HDD rail when I could remove the rail all together and squeeze a tiny bit more airflow out of my fans. Got a random unused power connector behind tray too so it works out well.
