Reading a lot about various tweaks you can do like turning off indexing etc. What is the consensus...or individual of opinions course as to what are the minimum things to do rather than everything ?

I've mostly heard that small changes such as disabling indexing and defragmentation on SSDs increase their lifespan but do not affect their speed. Certain utilities - eg. Samsung SSD Magician, I'm sure there are others - can make these changes for you but I'm not sure if these are reccomemded/required.

I would also be interested to hear other peoples opinions/findings.

I do most of the tweaks but mainly to free up space on the ssd. I move pagefile to another drive and disable drfrag and windows restore...this releases a good 10 gig of space. As for spead increases I am not sure you would actually notice a difference in real time but I do all the tweaks anyway...never had any issues doing it either.

Just check that windows has disabled defrag on the SSD. Thats all you have to do really. The SSD is the best place for the pagefile for performance.

I disabled Indexing, System restore (a noob feature Ive never needed), the hibernate file, super fetch (actually win 7 disabled it by itself), defrag on c:

I left the pagefile alone as reads out number write by 40 to 1.

Cheers guys...I was hoping that less is more when it comes to tweaking. Always felt "you" can do too much sometimes and screw your system.

I'm so pleased with my SSD its unreal........

Having moved my SSD "C" drive program files etc to my HDD to free up space I have problems when installing new programs onto the C drive where I want some of them to be. I keep getting a message saying it can't find the folder or file in program Files (x86)on the HDD. Particularly Windows programs like Silverlight

If I then copy the missing data to the HDD all is fine. Have I done something wrong ? Should I be deleting anything ? I left the same folders on the C drive in case I wanted...and I do...to install some programs to the SSD
