SSD Under GPU

I just had an experience where my ssd failed a few days after installing a semi-passive gpu with no prior problems for 18 months. Then I read somewhere it's not a good idea to place an ssd in the M.2 slot under a semi-passive graphics card due to heat issues. Was I just unlucky or does it matter?

Mmm, tbh people worry about temps on M.2 drives and SSD's in my experience unless you're aboslutely threashing them for 20 minutes plus the temps stay ok, but that's just me. I'd be surprised but it's hard to know what your temps were around the SSD...
