Hi guys

Im thinking of buying an SSD, perhaps this one. I just wanted to know will a see a drastic improvement in load times/games over my current Raid 0 configuration.(Currently have 2 seagate 7200.12 in raid 0)

Yep you should do, but only in load times. You won't get an FPS increase.

The main speed increase from traditional drive to SSD is 'random access' which is near instant on an SSD but requires spinning through the physical disk on a normal drive. Things like loading software, OS, and games are generally a lot faster on an SSD for this reason.

How much faster wuld you say windows loads compared to a raid 0 config, also my mobo only has sata2 connections. Thus would that be a bottleneck for the Vertex 3's?

In some ways yes it would bottleneck as your running at sata 2 speeds, but in real world conditions I suspect you would not notice any difference .

I use the older Vertex as my main boot drive and would never go back to a mechanical drive, I think I got around 20 sec boot time.

Well my XPS420 had a RAID 0 setup and my current machine is running off a Vertex 2 - I'd say three times as fast but I also keep my OS a lot cleaner now.

Cold boot to desktop for me is about 8-10s.
