Has anyone run into issues with video editing on SSD drives?

What do you reckon is the best setup?

1 x 128GB for OS

1x 128GB for HD video

1 x 128 for HD Video

Or would reading and wrting to a single 256GB be fine with a 128GB for OS and apps?

Building an i7 SB video editing rig for a mate and just want some feedback cheers

well, the bigger the better to put your rushes onto...

However... most proper vid editing solutions rely more on RAM and HT for your current bins/clips/sequences etc, and also subtly moving a lot of stuff into internal project folders within the softwares C:/ partition (or wherever it is) - you will be surprised how massive my FCP7 prog folder can get if editing for a long period.

Another thing to consider is what/how you output.
I output to tape a lot, so really prerender and also use the SSD to cache the output heavily to try to avoid stutter/artefacts etc creeping into output. The other output I have heavily is to external HDs for clients to take away.

If you are editing home vids, stuff for the internet then this isn't really an issue.

I7 hyper-threading, good RAM (and lots of it), and an SSD (reasonable size) for OS/edit software and reasonable large-volume HDs and external HDs are what counts for me.

What software/edit projects are you going to be using the system for?
