SSD VS PCI-E drives?

SSDs are easier to transfer between machines. PCIE drives are very good if you do lots of writes. Most people don't seem to notice any difference between the two in normal use.

SSD you can place wherever you want, and have as many as your motherboard supports. With PCI-E you can only have as many as whatever free PCI-E slots you have. Plus they may be around hot components. And cost.

If you use software that is IO limited, PCI-E SSD's can improve performance. Most mainstream mobo chipset's don't have many PCI-E lanes so cannot support more than one or two at full speed.
