Whilst reinstalling W7 on my 60gb OCZ Vertex 2 i get an error saying the w7 files are corrupt.

Now i know the disc is fine as i used it to do a fresh install on a HDD moments after.

Anyone had this problem?

Also what is the latest firmware version for my ssd and is it worth upgrading to?

maybe i should try HDDErase first? looks a bit tricky to use

It's always recommended that you should secure erase an SSD before a re-install. Don't OCZ have something built into the Toolbox app for Sandforce drives that does this?

Edit: Yes! To answer my own question. There's a little mentioned here.. http://www.anandtech.com/show/2899/7

Not entirely sure if doing this will solve the problem, but if you've successfully done this before you have to start wondering what has changed in the meantime! Have you flashed the SSD firmware since your last OS install or made any other significant changes (especially in the BIOS)? What mode do you have the drive set to install on, IDE/AHCI/RAID etc?

i will try an erase and see how it goes. (might be a while cos im busy at the mo)

Dirk - nothing has changed sisnce last OS install - running same 1.11 FW, and IDE. Same mobo bios too.

not sure if windows 7 install is the same as windows vista, but when you select install then it shows the drive you have to delete the partition, then create a new one and format.
