Hi. I've noticed that Samsung ssd warranty is x years or xTBW usage, whichever comes first? Has it always been like this? In theory, you could use up the warranty within a year.

Not always no. They started with the 840 series.

However 75TB is a lot of data to be written. In the 3 years that my 830 ssd warranty lasted I only wrote 20TB.

For the 128GB 850 EVO sure, you could use it up within a year if your a moderate/heavy user.

Once you get to the 500GB level though, it takes an awful lot of writes to exceed it's rated endurance.

To get through the 75TB written warranty in a year means 200GB of writes a day. That ia very heavy use and buying a consumer TLC drive for this would be plain dumb.
