Hi all

I have two ssd,s on my sata 6 gb mobo running raid 0 (p67 maximus extreme)

If i add another ssd and put all 3 ssd,s on the Sata 3gb running raid 0,

Will I lose much in the way of performace as ive moved from sata 6 gb?

Cheers

If the drives can do over 300MB/s then they will individually perform slower on Sata 2 than on Sata 3 but your drives are in RAID.

I don't know what drives you have but lets imagine they can transfer at 400MB/s on Sata 3 and 300MB/s on Sata 2.

Your two in raid on Sata 3 will be able to transfer at 800MB/s in raid 0.

If you put a third drive in and move to Sata 2 they will be capped at 300MB/s but there's three drives so they will transfer at 900MB/s in raid 0.

Add your own drive figures and see how it works out. If they don't do over 300MB/s then you won't lose any performance.
