SSD's 1 or 2?

One 256GB SSD or two 128's.

Two 128's are slightly more expensive and the 256 has better write speeds. But would the two 128's be better overall in RAID 0?

Looking at Crucial C300 or maybe waiting for the C400.

single SSD is easier to use, has less latency due to the raid controller and supports trim. Raid 0 gives better sequential reads but has issues with latency, disk failure, setup, initialising the raid controller at boot (my mobo took over 10s extra to do this).

Go for 1. SSD's are fast enough as it is, especially w/ the nextGen coming out.

You really only need two SSD's in Raid 0 if you are planning on doing a ton of sequential reads/writes.
