SSD's lose data?

Hmm... currently have had my SSD sitting outside my PC for a while and it's getting hotter (Was about 90F/32C in the room last night). Might need to attach it to the PC just to get some juice in it lol.

I think it is one of those issues where 99.999% of the population will be fine, but there'll be a couple of high-profile cases and we'll never hear the end of it. I'm betting it's going to become one more meme that never dies, like RAID 0 on SSDs or overprovisioning SSDs.

Noticed that. I took it as "manufacturer of the most unreliable hard drives recommends buying their hard drives" :)

How the mighty have fallen - I have 20 year old Seagate drives that still retain data fine yet their more recent ones you need a bit of luck to manage more than 2 years.

Should I go back to HDD for backing up data? I have quite a lot stored on SSD now.....

.

Should always have a robust backup solution for critical data anyhow thar doesn't rely on any one platform.
