Looking at the OCZ Vertex, they're coming down to reasonable prices, so I was thinking of getting the 60GB version for my O/S disk. However it's using the indilix Barefoot controller, which I understand isn't the greatest (please correct me if wrong)?

What controller should I look out for/avoid? Am yet to find a bad review about the JMicron JMF612..

The sandforce controller is good, espcially if you consider writes as important as reads.

for me the C300 64 won the day. Price, performance and an extra gig or two of fromatted capacity over the 60gig vertex and vertex 2s. Performance wise reads are fantastic , ideal for a boot drive.

you could always try a couple of Patriot PS100 32GB's in RAID 0

although I'd personally pay the extra for the vertex 2e

Sandforce 1200/1500 is the current best controller. BUT the Micron controller is pretty impressive to, so I'd recommend the Crucial C300 64Gb for £118 + 7% QuidCo ;)

Thanks :). The c300 does look like being the best bet. Difficulty locating it though..oh nm, I got the clue :p.
