Some |\|008 SSD questions
Given HD stats are given in seek time and SSD's I/O speeds how do these new SSD's compare to a good HD?
Are they a more reliable product now than OCZ first SSD release?
Are they RAID strippable?
Which is the more important stat for common use Read or Write?
Chrz all

(YES YES your a thug too you silly Forum bot, will you plz stop this stupid name calling, stick and stones...)

SSD's, when working properly, are much better than HDD's. The upcoming generation of OCZ Vertex drives (and the other clones) will have better sustained transfer speeds, as well as 0.1ms access times.

The Intel MLC drives, any SLC based drives, and the upcoming Vertex drives with onboard cache are free from the stuttering issues of the early OCZ drives. Reliablity should eclipse mechanical drives, even doing massive amounts of writes every day.

Yes, you can RAID them, and they scale even better than HDD's. It's advised not to use RAID5 as this cause additional wear. The increased reliability makes it safer to go RAID0 in any case.

Reads are a more important Stat for the majority of users.
