SSE are currently offering Fibre plus (upto 76mbps) unlimited with line rental and anytime calls for £21 a month. Have just cancelled my Virgin services due to a nice Sky TV offer, and am considering going with SSE for the broadband as this price is very good in the current market.

Anyone used them, with them or have any input on them as a provider?

I assume that's £21/mo plus £16/mo line rental? If so it costs about the same as Plusnet's offering but without the introductory discount. Cracking deal if it includes line rental though.

SSE reckons they offer no services for my phone number even though I have FTTC...

Nope. £21 is all in. I get no luck on the website and you won't if you are with Virgin or an LLU provider.

While I'm not with them myself (considered it when I read the offer also) from that I've read a lot of their users have complained about slow speeds at peak times which is a concern for me.

Thats what I'm on! I really want 80/20 though!

For what I use the internet for 40/10 is more than enough for me, yes its nice to be able to go look woo I downloaded that in 6 seconds. To me having to wait 20 seconds isnt an issue. Downloads just set off before leaving for work or before going to bed so all off peak and to be fair even though I am currently on 152mb with Virgin I never seem to get anywhere near that when I actually do need something in a hurry.

Then for the rest of the time general internet usage feels the same at that speed as it does on a 200mb leased line :)

£21/month plus £136.50 cashback from TopCashback - so effectively £13.44/month over 18 months - think it runs until November. Phenomenal value for money.

If you can get the cashback which appears to only be possible if you currently have a BT provided service. ie, if you are with Sky or Virgin you have no chance of getting the cashback.
