Hi all,
I'm hoping to re-purpose an SSHD drive (Seagate Momentus XT 500GB to be precise) to be the boot drive in an old 'office' PC.
The problem I'm having is that the Poseidon, much like the Aurora 3D case, uses rails to mount the HDDs. These rails fix to the HDD using small metal pin (I guess you'd call them) that fit in the screw holes on the side. The drive then slides into the HDD cage and locks. Now the SSHD drive are the same size as SSDs, so wont fit natively in the case.
Most of the 2.5" to 3.5" adaptors seem to be quite short (close to SSD size in length) but the Poseidon's rails require something about the length of a full HDD as it uses the screws holes at the front and back.
As it's a SSHD not a SSD I'd prefer that it has some active cooling (which you would get if it's in the HDD cage), so don't really want to mount it in the floppy drive section of the case.
Has anyone got around this issue?
Does anyone know of 2.5" to 3.5" adaptors that are the same length (inc. screw holes) as a normal HDD?
Thanks.
