As title suggests which would be a better performing drive for storing and running applications and games. Seagate SSHD or WD Black hdd?

I'm looking for both performance and reliability. I have an ssd for os and another for major applications so really looking for a cost effective solution for adding more storage.

As a SSHD would only have 8Gb SSD as cache I would say the WD Black personally although I have mine running from a WD green and it's fine

You dont need a SSHD. You should just buy a WD black HDD and save yourself some £££.

I have two SSHD, the performance benefit does not justify the added expense.

Depends what you want, I have a 4TB WD black they are the fastest although They are loud. by loud I mean LOUD. They do have a 5yr warranty though

I can't hear mine when gaming due to headphones and fans. As post below isolated in the case they are quieter, mine is also mounted on rubber aswell. Saying that they are all about speed, noise wasn't taken into consideration when they made these.

I use a 4TB WD Black and it's more than adequate. OS and apps/games where speed is everything go on the SSD, the Black for everything else.

As for noise, just isolate it from the case and it's fine. If you don't do this they can "drum" quite a bit when accessing.
