Can't believe there hasn't already been a thread on this yet!

for those of you who haven't seen this, in November someone noticed that Ea had registered 5 new domain names that pointed to a new SSX game, variations of www.ssxdeadlydescents.com. This naturally caused an explosion of rumours, and recently they released a teaser trailer for the game;

what are your thoughts?
I'm crazily excited by this, SSX games were my favourite back on the PS2, I was so gutted when I heard that Ea Sports Big was scrapped, I assumed that was the final nail in the coffin for SSX. This is great news for me, even if the trailer makes it look a little more dark and COD like that tricky etc, I'm still hoping for a great game, roll on release date!

"Redefining the SSX franchise, SSX: Deadly Descents will pit riders versus both mountain and man. Players will explore the story of a team who seek to be the first to descend the faces of the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet. The team will travel the world to face the worst that Mother Nature can throw at them. From the peaks of the Himalayas, where the air is so thin that riders have to descend through the death zone at breakneck speeds to keep from blacking out, to the solid ice ranges of Antarctica, where a sunlit line is the only survival option when temperatures drop 50 degrees centigrade in the shade. And the mountain isn’t the only danger players will face. In SSX: Deadly Descents the first goal is to survive. The second, in true SSX fashion, is to look good doing it."
 
I think I've played just about all the Snowboarding games since SSX, while many are more realistic, such as Stoked, I think that SSX while totally over the top is way more fun, I spent hours playing SSX3.

I'm glad they are doing something about a new one as Ubisoft's Shaun White game was rubbish, Stoked was by a tiny developer and I think the Amped games are done with considering Amped 3 was a 360 launch title. I'm surprised EA haven't jumped at it sooner.

That said, the trailer on that website is pretty pants.
 
Yeah not sure what's going on in that trailer, I loved the previous SSX games though so will be keeping an eye on this one.
 
Really S...S....X? woah I thought, hang on that's awsome. One of the few games you can pick up n play, had great fun ssx3, and liked the great choice of tunes EA had put in too, Alpine Stars!

I loved SSX but am not convinced by that trailer. Looks like they are trying to make it dark, gritty and dangerous. SSX is the opposite - unrealistic, overthetop, colourful, in your face with a sense of humour.

I know it sounds like "I don't like change!" but if it's soo different then you shouldn't use the same brand... Maybe it's too early to say though.

It was so underrated, massively pushed the boundaries at the time and still feels really fresh. It's the only last gen game I've kept around to play on 360. Boarding from the top to the bottom was great fun :)

Absolutely; probably my favourite game, ever.

Spent soo many hours online on SSX3 on PS2, was so disappointed with SSX: On Tour and then even more disappointed with the lack of current generation version.

Can't wait :D
