ST 185

For that kind of price, you could get an uprated version of your current with forced induction, but obviously you would lose the warranty .

Yeah I know its expensive, but you would have to go for Stage 1 and then Stage 2 im guessing so it will be FAR cheaper for me to get pumabuild to do it?

One of my friends may go for the 185 upgrade for his ST. Shame it'll still be slower than my Clio 182 :D

You'll not have to pay twice, the higher cost upgrade will give you the extra 35 BHP. It contains cams and everything contained in the lower priced upgrade.

Hmm not so good imo. A supercharger setup is not much more than 3k for a 306 gti-6 taking it to 260 bhp. I think a clio sport would be a better buy tbh

It's still not a bad upgrade as far a NA tuning goes. Its around £1800 for 35 BHP on the ST, with the clio you'd be lucky to get 20BHP for the same money. The upgrade would put the little Fiesta pretty close to the Clio 182 in performance, although probably a little bit behind.

I actually really rate my friends ST even with only 150BHP or so.

It's not that bad a deal really. You get full ford backing and a fair whack extra, only bad thing is those prices are excluding labour I think :(

I've said it before but it's good to see upgrades like this on a mainstream car from a dealer.

Only thing I can think of on a real mainstream type car is Subaru's PPP.

I though the £1800 or so was all in, including labour.

I would not spend £1800 on a ford st 150 to take it to 185.

Just buy a clio 172 and pocket about £3-4k ?

I think my friend spent around £11200 for the ST new including the electrics pack a few months ago. I've seen a new Clio 197 cup including optional Recaro seats for £11800. I know which i'd have bought new :)

What i would say though is the Fiesta ST is definately screwed together better than my 182. The 197 is meant to be put together much better than the older Clio's :)

£11+ K!!!

Why did he not get a focus RS instead. We recently sold a absolute mint Focus RS for £12k. It had bluefin, K&N Gen II induction and decat. That thing was a total machine and only ins group 16.

They were selling for around £10800 new on special offer, plus any extras including electrics pack for folding mirrors etc. I can only imagine he wanted a new car. I got my 182 at pretty much the same time and it cost me around 4K less although it was around 3 years older.

You only need the Stage 1. The other options are just things like wheels. The upgrade to the focus seems a better buy, but 35bhp on something so light will go a long way.

Its not that light, its over 1200KG :(

As far as im aware the cheaper upgrade is 165 BHP and the more expensive 185 BHP.

Its 1165KG. Mine cost 8000 in metalic black with privacy glass on an 06 plate it had done just a bit over 8000 miles. Still got a years warranty sooo ill guess id rather have that than a french car w/o a warranty :p
