i have one of the above drives. a friend with a mac wanted an ssd added so i got the 1tb drive that was in it. it though behaves oddly.
it seems to copy fine then it seems to pause, then it goes back to being fine, smart says its fine though. it was part of an apple recall due to issues which to me seems like some firmware issue rather than something mechanical.
so, is there anything i can do for the drive, some purpose it can be used for as it seems rather a shame to turn a 1tb drive into coasters if it can be put to a more constructive purpose.
