hello,
it's driving me nuts, i can't diagnose the source of the probleme correctly.
while playing some games, my screen freezes, the only way out is to push reset.
then it became more frequent, and completly random, but only while gaming and not all the games, i can play some games for hours no freeze, and some others make it freeze for like half an hour of play.
during the freeze nothing seem to shut down inside the case all fans leds(mobo, gpu, cpu cooler..) keep running.
i run prime95, pc freeze, i run furmark pc freeze...
i opened the case, i unpluged everything, and put everything back, boot up.
rerun the tests, prime works fine, furmark stress test works fine, games work fine no freeze.
monitoring temps, cpu stock runs 34idle and 48 load
gpu factory OC , 34 idle, 68 gaming, 74 after 15min furmark

few weeks later freeze in a game, reset, then it starts again more frequently, i unpluged everything again, and it was fixed for few weeks, then it came back again...

i dont know if it's the PSU or the Mobo, or the GPU, or some stupid cable.
anyone familiar with these symptoms ? i dont wanna spend money on a new PSU to end up having the same probleme.

my config FX 6300, MSI 970A-G46, 8Go corsair XMS3, vaporx 280X, akasa venom 850 gold, win7 64

Did the 280's suffer from the stock cooler and the throttling? I had something similar with my 290 until i upgraded it.

no trottle, constant 1070mhz for hours (unless when the game is loading a map or something ofc), although sometimes the clock get stuck at 950mhz, need to reboot the pc to fix it, happened to me twice or so in like 6 months, didnt consider it an issue, should i ?
and 550mhz when im playing low games like heartstone 2D stuff

that's what i was thinking too, b ut it doesn't explain why freeze only in some games and not others, or why it works perfectly for weeks, before breaking down.
it's like something is super charged overtime, and the unpluging discharge whatever it was.
no one else had similar issue before , or have any insight to what it might be ?
