At 3ghz at the mo passes test 5 4times

Ram at 4-4-4-12 2.1v and +1 thrugh NB, off to try for more

Bac at 3.4ghz passes memtest full run fine

Just need to run orthos now, ill leave it running overnight

Noooo! Orthos crashes the system with the screeching noise again but memtest passed fine

So is it the CPU thats unstable?

What voltage are you using on that cpu? If its on the high side it won't be the first C2D i've seen or heard of that suffered from degradation from too much volts.

Im running 1.375v through it at the mo do you reckon i should lower it and see how it goes?

I'd look elsewhere tbh, thats far from what i'd call a dangerous level

Cpus i was thinking of were on 1.5 -1.65v

Do you think 2.3v through the RAM is safe, this may have cause degradtion but on the RAM

What RAM is it? If its not rated for 2.3v it could well be, especially if its stuff rated on the lower end of the voltage scale like 1.8-2.0v for eg.

Ran for 1 hour fine, i assumed it was ok as it was run on the exact settings i used to get it 12hrs stable running at lower voltage now

25mins in, wish me luck.

Going to run othos overnight im at 2hours on blend at the mo, ill see if its still running in the morning
