I don't know whether anyone here reads Jeff Atwood's Coding Horror blog, but if you do you'll have probably heard of Stack Overflow by now.

http://stackoverflow.com/

I've been having a look at it today and it seems like a pretty good idea - with any luck it will get rid of Experts Exchange once and for all too ;)
I just wonder if things will go the same way as Digg/Reddit with lots of useless crap getting pushed to the top?
It perhaps doesn't bode too well that top of the 'Hot' list at the minute is a question entitled 'What’s your favorite “programmer” cartoon.' :p

That looks like it could be a useful resource. Experts exchange is so annoying - everytime you google something you think you have found a solution to a problem until you click the link and then all the posts are hidden!

Well, ive been on here since the private beta began.

I am a professional all i can say is crap rises to the top on this site. There is a lot of incorrect answers with a high number of votes. This site is the blind leading the blind and shows the reason why expert-sex-change is a valid concept!

The Experts Exchange solutions are always shown - no need to google cache, you just have to scroll past all the ads and everything else and it's right there! It's actually a very useful resource - if a bit irritating (it does clock up your mouse miles)

errr... no the answers are not shown....

Click the example there, the answer is not shown on the first link but can be seen on the second.

That has always annoyed me about that site aswell, they're nearly always listed when i look for something and it frustrates me to have to use google cache for the answer. Most of the time i'll move onto another website for the solution. Frustrates me though as they're near the top of practically every question i plonk into google.

Interesting... clicking your link direct hides the answer, googling the topic title and clicking the link through google works fine.... (not cache)

Been on it for a little while.

Well put together site with a lot of potential for useful Q&A.

But everyone seems to love doing a load of sickly naval-gazing.

How do you vent stress as a programmer?
What’s your favorite “programmer” cartoon.
What’s Your Motto As A Developer/Programmer?

Puh-lease!
