the veoh section on forums where always much bigger than stag6 as it takes so much longer for videos to be taken down.
And as veoh as at least a simalr number of CR video's then why hasn't veoh been closed down?

The only reason stage6 was shut down first is that you could direct-download the video's, thus making it noob friendly and massivley popular amongst the internets infinte number of idiots. This put it in the spotlight, and as such people took action.
It's the same thing that happened to suprnova. The anti-piracy squad can't shut down all the sites which are breaking copyright laws, so they target whichever are in the spotlight.

You couldn't be more wrong. In fact You can even upload VOB to veoh, and download it in exact DVD quality. With stage6 however, everything is in compressed *.avi format.
i was basing what i said from my experience on both sites and stage 6 most of the time looked far better than most of the veoh files i have seen.
theres been about 3 files i have seen that are decent quality on veoh while most of the others were just lacking compared to stage 6.
i guess the uploaders don't want to take full advantage of the better options on veoh

I really liked stage6, I found it to be far more professional looking that any other video hosting site, nicer colour scheme, superior quality in vids etc.
Hope they bring it back when they're bigger and better, as they say in that closing memo, more products are hitting the shelves DivX compatible, so they're only gonna get bigger and more universal.

Where do you fiond these videos?
I never even heard of both these programs til now and im on Veohs site and cant find any DVD quality movies

They don't stream at DVD quality, you can only download them. And the filesise for VOB is huge, so it's rare than people bother uploading in that format. You certainly won't find any full movies in that format, just music video's etc.
And to clarify; with veoh, what you download is exactly what was uploaded. Therefore the quality can be amazing, or it can suck, depending entirely on how much of a moron the uploader is.
stage 6 streamed at that quality and if i downloaded one it would look the same but be about 300mb in file size.

Well, it looks like nobody is uploading anything of half decent quality because I've been looking for days now and still comes across as nothing more than a slightly better quality Youtube.
Perhaps someone could supply a few links to some decent HD material (720p will suffice but 1080 would be bonus).

Never worked well for me, pile of carp tbh and i wont miss it, the amount of videos that have been on there that i couldn't watch has been annoying.

I generally get a minimum of 100kb/sec for veoh downloads, which I find perfectly acceptable. In fact it's usually closer to 200kb/sec.

I've seen some videos on there, they weren't any better than i could get anywhere else and the ones i wanted were available at other sites and worked

When I dl'ed a film from veoh, it took over 9 hours
Still, can't even use it's dl now at uni, and it's speed will be worse if your isp shapes bit torrent traffic.
Still it's ok for watching tv shows on as they are usually within the streaming allowance, and in acceptable quality.

Yes and it hardly ever worked and was uninstalled as i could get what i needed from other places.
I mean, c'mon, i said it never worked well "for me" it was annoying and i wont miss it, where do i say it was rubbish? obviously some people found it good or i wouldnt be looking there for videos in the first place but to contradict myself, yeah it was rubbish, for me! so obviously not as good as you think it was.
