i have no idea but she has her own line of merch. I think the story goes that she finished Cornell University studying Food Science but couldn’t get a job during the pandemic so started making content online instead, went from 0 to 1.4mil followers on YouTube inside a year. I only known about her existence since November, though it she was just some model doing your regular tiktok food trend video but dig deeper to find that she knows her stuff. She cooks ramen from scratch, doing it the proper way, with all the steps and go as far as making her own noodles. The girl is legit.

@Raymond Lin :( i've been thinking about getting a stainless steel frying pan recently, had a look on tkmaxx website and dont see that pan anywhere :(

You do know that tkmaxx doesn't stock particular lines of something. They operate similarly to a pound shop, they'll purchase whatever they can, and sell it on. Sometimes that means particular lines don't get lots of stock, or are then replaced with a different brand.

Gen didnt know, never set foot in a TKmaxx in my life

It's great, their business model is buying up whatever company's last season stock, or minor box damage, or auction stuff and then sell it. There is no brand snobbery in their stock. I have picked up stuff like a basic chopping board for a couple of quid to a Diesel leather jacket that's worth £500 for £90. A similar one now on the Diesel site is almost £900!

They restock twice a week, varies depending on the location. What you see in store is what you get. So there is an element of luck. I tend to only buy stuff that I can check over and not return so things like cookware is fine as they are seldom in any boxes. I can see it right there and check for blemishes, same with clothing, I will just try it on in store in the changing room.

no to stainless frying pans. I remember all too clearly frying eggs in stainless steel pans. It did not go well.

I can’t deny every time I use it to fry eggs I get nervous it’s going to be a mess and sticks. Every time I’m surprised that it does not.

Just think about it, you know those Japanese tapanyaki grill where they cook in front of the customer, from steam to veg to fried rice to noodles to eggs. It’s a stainless steel surface and they don’t stick.

I ask myself, why? But the more important question is, why would it stick on mine and not on his? Is it magic stainless steel he is using or am I doing something wrong?

Not tried frying eggs in mine yet. Bit afraid too lol :D

My pan worked great though for caramalising onions for a tart so im planning to caramalise about 4 onions tomorrow for a few different dishes. Im thinking of making okonomoyakitomorrow too but might do a tester first before i commit to the whole dish just to see if i have some stickage issues

i think in a way it teaches me to be more patient when cooking. If I put a piece of meat on it, it will stick if I lift it too early so it teaches me to wait.

Looking to move away from Teflon based frying pans as it has lost its non-stock and reading up on how harmful it can be.

I always thought things like eggs and pancakes would stick to stainless steel pans but it seems could be a sound investment.

Any recommendations? ProCook one linked in the thread?

For eggs and pancakes, get a cast iron crepe pan.

I use mine for all sorts. Anything not acidic cooks great on it.

looks good , a triply for £30 .. you have commercial inductions versus gas - how come ?
1: Its only a small Kitchen so heat is an issue
2: And the main one.... Can't get gas to the property.
3: Now the Chef's have stopped B*itching about not having gas they actually like induction
4: As its a small Kitchen we can move the hobs around depending on service/Function/Event etc

I have a couple All Clad non-stick sauté pans which are my personal preference; both are about ten years old and have held up well.
The newer All Clad, however, is now hard-anodized.
