Big time boo here..

The other week I decided to bronze myself up a little with it being sunny weather and all and slapped on some Johnsons Holiday Tanning Lotion! It did an alright job (though I did end up with a brown belly button! Whoopsy!)

Stupidly though, I made the terrible terrible mistake of putting on a shiney white bra soon after the application. I've now got a white bra with yellowy/brown bits round the edges and on the straps :(

I've used vanish. I've even shoved it in a bowl with a sterilizing tablet. I've scrubbed and dunked it lots... and it's faded, but not gone entirely (especially on the straps)

Help!!

I love my bra and want it to be daz white again! Any ideas/tips?!

Soda water?

Was having a discussion yesterday about how americans seem to think this is the answer to every stain in existence - then someone spilled a drink on someone else in a programme that was on (How I Met Your Mother or some carp), and someone exlaimed that they would get some soda water :p

My gf had the exact same problem. She thought it was time for a new bra so didn't try to get the stains out so can't help, sorry :(

I'm no homogay, but maybe i can help, your mistake was wearing a bra whilst sun tanning, plus a white one is sure to get stained. Buy a new bra and be more careful next time.

Try ypu local tesco or sainsbury, they do plenty of stain removing products. Try adding a bit of bleach + your regular detergent.

How is that help, exactly?

Oooh Soda sounds interesting.... *raids the cupboards*... doh... *adds to shopping list* :)

As for bleach - doesn't that do bad bad things for elastic (i.e. make it yellowy?)

I would love to buy a new bra but I'm money saving at the moment :( It normally costs about £50 - £70 for me to get a bra as my boobs are quite... large. Cheap ones means problems like knocking people out etc! :p

Silly silly me!

Yeah use a dilute bleach or something. That should do it :D

Love the brown belly button... also, before I even opened the thread, I couldn't resist a *snigger* at the title...

Babe.. it is never going to be the same, but good luck with the bleach etc.

Have you tried the Vanish stick and the gel? Soak it over night and scrub (if you can).

With regards to stains... does anyone know if black hair dye can come out of carpets? I have been told not.

Not my problem - my flatmates ;)

BB x

As for the bra... lesson learnt tbh... unfortunately you already knew the lesson and still did it... which is a mega bummer.

What, liek she only had one bra?...

tbh it probably won't come out, its meant for staining skin, so it's not going to be easy to remove. Best way to avoid it is to get Pickers to take you to a decent country, which has a working sun ;).

Blimey, that is expensive?

I always get mine fitted... usually around £30 each :)

Yes, Pickers kept laughing at my brown belly button and compared it to something I'd rather not mention

Despite the brown belly button and yellow bra, Johnsons Lotion was fab for making me glow nicely!

Hmmm I'm scared of bleach (plus my bra has nice pink stitching in it)... but Ill give it a go as a last resort!!
