Stalker 2

Yet ive tried countless times to get into RDR2 and failed every single time due to boredom, the most fun i got out of it was downloading the bounties mod and got up to all sorts of shenanigans.
The story bored me to tears.

Got further than me, the sluggish movement and controls put me off from the start. I got as far as setting up your first camp.

Have they solved the corrupted saves issue? I lost two saves on this, 2nd time I was quite far through it and I couldn’t be arsed restarting again but I’m at a loss for something to play.

Is this a known issue? Or a new(ish) one?
As I completed it around release time and didn't have any issues, and I even changed to a new PC, and didn't have a problem, Steam cloud save wise?
Did a new patch break something or was it always a potential issue?

It was Xbox game pass version I was playing, I’d end up with a corrupt save and then cloud save would overwrite it and I’d lose progress. Was defo around launch.

I did reinstall this when bored, due to this thread, still seems pretty empty, the A-Life 2.0 is a joke. I cant see myself replaying it, I'm glad I didn't pay full price.
It's a shame as there are some good moments, but it is what it is I guess!

Finished this the other day. Despite it being "rather" broken, I got 150hrs out of it; I like exploring....I completed KCD2 a few months before, and there's no comparison. The story in Stalker 2 is a convoluted mess, and there were times I got the impression that things were lost in translation due to lines of dialogue that contradicted each other. Graphics were ok'ish. Characters were forgettable and the AI was, at times, immersion breaking. Doubt I'll revisit it.

150 hours!? You mad man! :P

What did you find to do for that long? I found it to be vast, but empty, all of the NPC's also loop the same limited dialogue.
I straight away was bored of hunting for those ability things, the ones you find in caves etc - I found they don't do much, I think I collected 6?

I went around collecting all the stashes, in the mistaken belief they'd contain something worth while (they didn't).

I finished this twice and did a play as a pure stalker doing artifact hunting. The story was indeed a mess but still overall enjoyed it.

Funny how some comments above call KCD2 superior, yet after 50 hours of the utterly laughable KCD2 I had to stop playing it. Poor story, poor gameplay and terrible combat. Stalker 2 despite the bugs was a far more enjoyable experience IMHO.

Lol!

@Paul_cz sort him out mate :D

Why did you waste 2+ days of your life on an "utterly laughable game"?

Kept convincing myself it was going to get good eventually. Restarted multiple playthroughs as I had left it too long each time.

Sometimes I keep going to “get my moneys worth” and should know better after 40 years of video gaming ;)

I’m sure you’ve never done the same right?

Jokes aside, to be fair to you, my experience was like this, I boughtt it, during all the hype on release; all excited, after the intro, I quickly realised that we'd been lied to!
The graphics did not match the quality shown, even at 4K DLSS maxed out, the plot wasn't there, and the world was vast but empty...
I 'pushed through it' got about 25 hours in and thought 'is this it' left it for 2 weeks, and then played it over a weekend until I'd finished the plot, because I'd wasted £45 on a key - however, if I'd bought it directly on Steam at the same price, I'd of just refunded it in under 2 hours.

Yeah, I think the problem for me isn’t the fact it is genuinely bad overall (KCD2 I mean) but the overhype. The same is arguably true of Stalker 2 of course and really it comes down to personal preference.

I would rate Stalker 2 as a GOTY contender after it was patched. KCD2 was just nowhere near as immersive for me.
