i am really enjoying stalker at the mo. i like all the guns, the trading, killing bandits. the AI is some of the best since farcry. its a really well thought out game, so much variation. it feels slightly rushed however...no vehicles etc leads to too much running around downing energy drinks

Definitely worth a look. I enjoyed the first one despite its bad points.

there's a mod for stalker were you can drive veichles

EDIT: i still need to complete stalker, i'm just about to go into pripyat, how long left would i have?

Quite a bit left after Pripyat, especially if you go for the long ending.

Can't wait for this, Stalker is probably my favourite single player game ever.

I was only playing for about 30 mins after Pripyat, but i rushed and spinted like no business past the next bit where you get attacked by...

'tis definitely my favourite game ever, followed it since its initial concept in 2002/2003 odd.

I prefer the game without cars etc, it would be far to quick if they were enabled by default. It sets the pace perfectly, you don't need to sprint everywhere, you should go slower and explore more

I'm just looking forward to the v1.1 patch, freedom enabled, so you can go back and forth just exploring, trading, doing random missions etc. It will be awesome

. Also they should be putting some AntiCheat software into the patch at some point which will be good for MP.

MP never worked for me on 3 different machines, will try on my new hard drive but im not getting my hopes up.

If it worked i would give it a firm 8 or 9, but because if that i would give it a 6.5.

Edit: Yea, multiplayer has never ever worked for me, no matter which patch I had.

oh when's the next patch due out? that free roaming would be class

i've never played the multiplayer, i never do til i complete the single player of a game....just habit like

THey still have not fixed it so it will run with ATI cards.... so I have little faith in the next game.... *Wants to play*

Nice, didnt notice this, lets just hope the Q1 2008 happens and it doesnt drag out for years like the original. Loved Stalker, was about the only game that I got into and played to the end for ages.

Dunno, worked OK for my x850xt for a day then I got my 8800GTS so cant say really.

I had Stalker since launch day and it's just sat on my shelf now, tried twice to get into it. Just seem to die so quickly and I forget to save so it bugs the hell out of me :mad:

Should I give it another go and be more patient??

Absolutely, its a bit tough to start with but once you get a good weapon its great, espescially in the underground bits.

ATI Cards = Over statement it does not work with the X19xx range afaik... has not done on any of the ones i have tested which sucks mah monkey

Hmm, it worked for me on my X1900XT just fine. finished the game several times with that card before I upgraded to my HD900XT.

You should take your time with the game. It's not a typical run-and-gun, you have to plan things, there are multiple ways around most of the situations. It is a brilliant game once you work out how the gameplay works.
