Looks nice - but is there still going to be as much aimless trudging around the scenery between the firefights?
That was the only thing that really spoiled Stalker for me - the sheer amount of walking and backtracking you had to do!
To complete side missions, it would have taken me 2hrs + just to walk back to the trader at the beginning, or to Barkeep from some of the further out locations.

Does anyone know how to disable the new scope graphics?
They look nice, but they look a bit silly because everything outside the scope sight is perfectly clear and zoomed in too.

Well this mod inspired me to give Stalker another shot but unfortunately it just crashes to desktop as loading's about to finish.
I might delete local content and get Steam to re-download it and try my luck again.

Just decided to slap this on and revist STALKER as I never got very far in the game.
Not really liking how dark it is at night, my savegame is right in the middle of me assaulting some guys at night and I'm getting cut to shreds, they are hard to spot and move very fast.

Personally, I would play the first game, Stalker : Shadows of Chernobyl, play it vanilla to start with.

Complete 2009 mod, basically its an overhaul of Stalker Shadow Of Chernobyl with added bits and pieces, better lighting and textures, some tweaks to the weaponry etc.
I honestly don't think there is any reason to play vanilla first.
Play STALKER Complete 2009 right away. The graphics are much better and so is the gameplay.
Actually the graphics are FAR better
clear sky is much much better than the original.
he has a little hissy fit after getting sussed so decided to delete all his mod posts out of spite.
Got this game last week, got to prypiat and my suit is too damged. So i decided to go back to the bar and evryone is hostile!! So my saves are now stuck inside the bar with loads of people trying to kill me, it's night time and i'm annoyed!! Theres no way of resseting the delta forces so they dont kill me is there?? I'ts really annoying as i'm so close to the end

Am sorely tempted to reinstall this but I lost my saves when moving over to vista a while back and I dunno if I can face playing through it all again - got as far as Pripryat and that was many many hours of play!
Is it just me being used to arcade-style games or is Stalker very hard? I mean.. I just can't hit anyone at all. As soon as they see me I get shot with aimbot style precision and took down to 50% health and bleeding, it takes half an MP5 clip to kill anyone and half the time my bullets just go around them, rather than into them. I have got the game set to it's hardest setting either, it's on the one up from Novice.
PS. It's not my aim either.. and I'm shooting in bursts
