Stalker mods

Hi guys

Ive never played any of the stalker games

I noticed the bundle on steam today so i thought id pick them up as ive heard great things about the games

Now, i allways hear that i should mod the games before playing them but i have no idea what the mods do or where to find them

Could someone assist me with these mods please

I'd recommend the Complete 2009 mod.

Personally, I'd play the games completely stock on your first run through. The mods are great, and improve certain aspects of the game immensely but they inevitably change the feel of the game, especially in Shadow of Chernobyl (which is quite different to the later two games). Whether the changes are a good thing or bad thing is up to you to decide, but you'll never get to do that if you've only played the game modded.

Anyone know to to fix the aiming? i prefer toggle aim and their isnt an option for it.

I found the Complete mods enhanced it without changing the feel of the game significantly, which I think was the goal. Mods like Oblivion Lost I'd avoid on a first playthrough, but I'd recommend Complete for a first timer.

Play it standard, then install oblvion lost 2 mod. Make sure you play them in order also

definitely get the complete mod. dont bother playing through the game without mods first because it changes none of the story. it just turns stalker up to eleven.

also, for call of pripyat complete, i hope you have a graphics card with plenty of VRAM (or are happy on lower settings).

Fair enough, but I would personally suggest modding at least SOC for the first play though. When modded there is virtually no comparison between that and vanilla.

My favourite one used to be SOC, but tbh there is so little difference for me between that and Clear Sky that I really can't separate them these days.

The best mod I've used so far is Oblivion Lost for SOC, Faction Fronts for Clear Sky (playing atm) and 'Complete' for COP.

Stalker fans are eagerly looking forward to Lost Alpha, which should be fantastic.

I am also interested in getting round to playing this mod (another one) at some point. It's supposedly one of thee very best available, if not the best currently out there for re-play value.

Stalker is very good game. i played first 2 and loved the first, even with bugs (fixed only after i had played it); however never played the 3rd as by then i was sick and tired of scavanging in radioactive Ukranian swamps. it is a nice game/gameplay, i just find the atmosphere a bit depressing and lifeless for my taste

would be nice if they could expand on the series and give it a much needed refresh. how about Africa after a viral pandemic?

Yeah, I kind of know what you mean. I felt at the end of COP that it was time for a refresh, shame about Stalker 2...at least atm anyway.

Nooo! Play it with the complete mod. It doesn't change the game mechanics and just improves the graphics and makes it run better.

Then if you want to mod the game mechanics install something like Oblivion Lost.

Its one of those games you have to put a few hours into it before you get into it. It's definately worth it though and is one of the best games I have ever played. So gutted the developers have called it quits

Just bought SOC as I thought I would buy just one at first and see if I like them.

Installing the complete mod before my first play through anyway.

well you are free to your opinion, but why would a change of background ruin it?

i feel that rinsing Pripyat is repetitive, dull and old and allready has ruined the game since i wasn't bothered to even play the 3rd game.
