Just have a question about stalling, ive just got my first car after not having had a car for a month and a half or driven for a month and a half, i keep making daft mistakes biggest is stalling, im pretty sure its just a case of me getting used to the car ive stalled about 7 times since i got it on friday :o (idiot) just hoping i wont be doing any damage to the car in the long term while i get used to it within a few weeks i should be ok and fully used to the car, main problem is i accidently wack it into third instead of first etc etc, :o , cheers.

Give it a few more revs and feed the clutch out *gently*. Don't try to rush and you'll be fine :).

Probably isn't great for your engine/gearbox mounts but I can't imagine it would cause any serious problems.

You'll get used to it over time mate, just keep driving and it'll get better.

When I first got my Golf, I was the opposite, I kept giving it too many revs and releasing the clutch too quick which meant I wheelspan off almost all traffic lights and roundabouts lol.

Its better than whacking it in 1st instead of 3rd

brumbrumbrumbraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I done that a few times after picking my first car up, first tiem i got it to pull away, second time i stalled.

First of all i would not apply too much power and stall a few times, done that about 4 times. After that i was putting too much on and spinning the wheels when it was wet. Only done it for the first week or so though.

Dont worry about stalling mate, as long as your not doing it where it rolls infront of traffic or something. Its something that you will stop doing once you have the power and biting points sorted.

Plus all that low-down torque makes it accelerate quickly and lots of wheelspin - had my focus for about 2 months now and i have never accidently wheel-span a car as much as this! And i've owned over 12 cars!

Starting to look like a tool at junctions particulary in the wet! Im starting to get used to it now but in the ice this morning i may as well have walked!

you not got traction control either :D, theres some serious power to the wheels i went bright red earlier when i spun it out a supermarket car park without even trying felt a right fool i must have spun it about 3 times since ive had it my rear tyres will be getting replaced before i know it

Dont worry about it matey, happened to us all at first!!

Go for a good long drive over the weekend and then do the same the day after, it will improve your confidence a lot.

You will loose the annoying mistakes soon enough ;)
