Stands for Vive Lighthouses?

I haven't used those black ones but my blue ones seem exactly the same.
They extend cleanly. Fit securely between floor and ceiling and the clips hold nice and tightly. I haven't yet screwed on the lighthouses (maily because i don't have the set yet...) but it seems rock solid and easily movable :)

Cool, perfect, I'll get them. Cheers.

The stands I ordered have no tripod at the bottom so smaller space taken up but they do need to stretch to the ceiling to support themselves

Just realised when reading about how far up the cameras should be mounted, that the grips won't go small enough to attach to the metal part of the frame. Problem sorted though...just turned them upside down. It's not as if they're weight bearing :)
Just waiting for the Tuesday (tomorrow) delivery to try it all out.... getting giddy with excitement.

I discovered the same thing. Will you be keeping your poles up all the time or taking them down when not in use? I'm worried they'll collapse, especially if they're used upside down.

They'll be staying up. There's no weight on them so they won't collapse (unless you use the release handle).

Still no delivery though. Hopefully it'll be today.

So, got my Vive yesterday and need to get the lighthouses set up somewhere (currently have them sitting on my desk, but as i'm sitting in between the desk and wall there isn't really enough space there).

The room it's in has sloping walls with a ledge around the edge that could be a good place to attach some of those floor-to-roof poles, but the problem with that is that one of the lighthouses would only be at head height at the highest, which may not be ideal?

May end up with a pair of the tripods linked in the first post, to get more flexibility even though they need more floor area.

One of the ball-joint mounts for my tripods has broken, which has forced me to mount one of the lighthouses to the wall...

The tripod lasted long enough for me to figure out the best position though :)

The ones mentioned in the first post? I ordered a pair of those yesterday (decided that the flexibility would be useful to make it easier to move things about).

I played some audio shield last night with the lighthouses around waist height and with an overlapping field of view (rather than being opposite each other).
It generally worked fine, though I had a couple of occasions playing on the higher difficulty where the position of the shields got messed up for a bit - not sure if that's because the units are too low, or something else.

Fun game in any case :-)

Ooh, spring clamps look a good idea.
Did you say outdoors? I assume you mean photography rather than VR?

What are limitations of having the VR setup outside, i understand not good to do it on a sunny day - but overcast with no chance of rain? or evening.
