Star Wars 3D

I honestly don't understand why people over 30 are still infatuated with Star Wars. Surely the massively obvious way that GL has ruined and raped that franchise should stick in people's craws, like it has done mine, and put people off from giving him more money and effectively saying "here's my bottom, George, do as thine pleaseth". I just thank the Lord above that he hasn't been able to ruin Indiana Jones...

I feel the same too. I loved it when I was younger, now it just annoys me. :(

Seriously? Did you SEE the latest Indiana Jones movie? :(

I think I've 'finally' learned my lesson where GL is involved. After buying every boxset of Star Wars since the original trilogy on Betamax, I was hoping he'd finally release the untouched versions versions for the anticipated Blu-Ray release, but instead we got the "messed around with yet again" ones which was my final Star Wars purchase ever. GL go **** yourself!

I saw an advert for this the other day and I instantly became about as excited as I do when my toilet needs cleaning.

I love Star Wars, the prequels weren't great, but really... there's no need for 3D.

As someone who isn't a Star Wars fanboy/nerd the Phantom Menace was an enjoyable film. As a neutral, looking back at the original films they are hardly the pinnacle of acting or scriptwriting, they just have a cult following. This by default makes it cool to "hate" on the newer films, regardless of whether or not they were any good.

And as for releasing in 3D, that just reeks of cashing in!

Just give us the original trilogy cinema release in blu-ray, unbastardised and I'll be happy with that.

GL keeps claiming that original version can't be released as the original reels were destroyed during the clean-up he did for the Special Edition versions. They had degraded so much that after the transfer they were binned and the freshly transferred prints were then worked on directly without an untouched backup copy being kept.

No it doesn't. Star Wars fans and film fans would have been ecstatic if the new films had been any good. But they had too many annoying elements - THAT'S why people 'hate on' them. It's true that the original trilogy was not exactly a showcase for screenwriting nor acting, but it was great for many reasons.

i'd take the 1997 se versions over the crap hes got now .. quite enjoyed going to watch those in the cinema . what he's done since is a crying shame

I watched the trailer in "3D" the other night whilst going to see the new Underworld. What a joke. If anyone goes to see this and actually pays money, they are a mug. It's not 3D at all. It was like watching the normal version. They are just cashing in on it.

I said to my partner did you think that looked good as she love the Star Wars films. She replied "was that ment to be 3D because if it was it looked like the normal version, flat". Nothing coming out of the screen at you and no depth of field. The 3D will be as ***** as Clash of The Titans was....
