Star wars books

I would recommend starting at the beginning with the Thrawn trilogy and start reading them all in order from there. I loved every single one and I have the full collection. Some really great books.

I realy like NJO nice mix between battles and revalations of the force [just wish it went depeer]

The wanted too but the whole plan was thrown out the window with lucas's plot change, they then had to go from the warrior story to poncy pacifist.

I think the writers pretty much were left with a re-write that they didn't like themselves.

Lucas takes the credit for SW but the rest he had a hand in are pants, he shouldve left them to other writers directors.

The jedi academy trilogy is better than anything he wrote after SW's. They wouldve made awesome films too.

Tim Zahns original Thrawn Trilogy is the best by a long way. The follow up's, the Hand of Thrawn were disappointing.
The next best read is probably the Rogue Squadron graphic novels, which are also written by Michael Stackpole for the most part but work much better than the books. The Tales of the Jedi graphic novels are also great if you can find them.
The Corellian trilogy and the Black Fleet Crisis are both readable.

Avoid the Crystal Star like the plague.

If you like the Thrawn trilogy I reccommend The Icarus Hunt and The Conquerers books which are also by Tim Zahn.

.

See I found those both dull, whenever they get to far into leias part of the story I nod off and upto NJO Han just ran around after her. Which was dull.

NJO shouldve been much better considering the number of books in the series. It was interesting that they wanted to kill luke in that series, until lucas told them he was the only character they definately couldn't kill.

they are all vetter by lucas arent they? so they fit with his view of the whole saga

Only major plot lines are vetted by him, he has a team of people he trusts to oversea that stuff. They call it the holocron where they check that the stories tie up. Lucas wasn't consulted where they kill off one of the SW main characters. He only said that one character in particular had to die and Luke couldn't. Anyone else was fair game.

Which is why they killed off ***** and the poor writer got death threats.
