Star Wars expanded universe

The Jedi Academy trilogy
* Jedi Search by Kevin J. Anderson
* Dark Apprentice by Kevin J. Anderson
* Champions of the Force by Kevin J. Anderson

Is a great place to start. Then it depends what you want, I like reading about the force and the devlopment of carachters. So I started from straight after Return of The jedi. But I've skipped the x-wing series and the bounty hunter tales etc.
NJO - although Lucas messed it up it's still good, it should have been great.

exactly the same as me really.

* edit also those thrawn ones are the ones i've read, they were ace iirc. got to get those again.

* in that that's what i want to read about, not that interested in standalone stories about a bounty hunter that we glimpsed in a new hope. i want luke leia founding of the new republic founding of jedi order and story arc from there really.

Damn just finished the first two books of the dark nest trilogy while on holiday. Just went searching for anymore books coming out and didnt even know about the legacy books. Was reading a preview of one on the starwars website and they dropped a huge spoiler in on who else from the skywalker family bites the dust :(

Gutted but they do seem to have taken the stance that they have to kill off major players now to keep the interest.
