Star Wars: Force Unleashed Demo

even though i wasnt that impressed by the demo level. been watching the review (9/10 it got)and further stuff from the game on tv today..
(apparently graphics are a LOT better in the outdoor environments)

might be worth getting this just for the story i think. From what ive seen the story really does seem to be THAT good  (they display a few spoilers of the story including one bit where Vader.... hrmm i better not say :D)

Thing is if it's only worth it for the story then I might just pick up the book instead.

Failing that I'll wait for this to appear on ebay or mm.

I may well end up caving and pre-ordering it though!

IGN review is up.

8.0 Presentation
Mostly great cutscene work that holds up a nice story. The upgrade options are good, but having to load the simple menu is a pain.

8.0 Graphics
Some of the technical work is great, but it isn't used as well as it could be. Most environments look great, though some objects and bits of animation look a little bland or stiff.

9.0 Sound
It makes use of the Star Wars sound library, so of course it's fantastic.

7.0 Gameplay
Using the Force is great fun, but many of the enemies (and bosses) can be tedious to fight. Level design isn't very inspired.

6.5 Lasting Appeal
The game isn't very long (eight to ten hours if you don't rush) and there's not a ton to go back for.

7.3
Decent OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

Doesn't fill me with confidence. Definitely not worth £40 if that review is correct.

I think I'll hangon for the GT video review.

I love SW so that will add another 1 to the review score for me ;)

Two of the best games I've played this year have had poo reviews and if it's bad I will just sell it on asap.

I don't fully agree with the review, some of the levels are excellent and 1 is very...um different...IMO i think it is a very fun game and the force powers make it a lot more interesting, but i couldn't see myself going back to it after finishing it.

I must have played at least 27+ Star Wars games, and tbh I wasn't that impressed with the demo. Yeah the physics are nice, but the gameplay is tired. Obvious scripted events, continuous spawning bad guys, boring AI (although the full game might be better), U rated violence – okay so you can stick your lightsaber through an enemy, but in Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast (2002) it was possible to chop the limbs off Storm Troopers. The character can be six feet above the head of an enemy and still do damage even though the lightsaber doesn’t seem to connect. And talking of lightsabers, why only one? In previous games, the user had the choice of carrying two or using a dual bladed one (again, maybe the full version will be different.)
